The House Project

Welcome graphic

It's a grand Victorian house that was built in 1896 by the Concordia Investment Company.  I purchased the house in July of 2002 and have been involved in some form of rehabbing ever since.  But there is quite a sense of accomplishment in seeing things progress.

On the following pages you will find a bit of a showcase of my house.  It is always my plan to update things from time to time but that doesn't happen as often as I would like it to.  I didn't do much updating in 2005 and 2006, but I've added some pictures of the "process" as it has come along.  I eventually plan on adding some pictures of the refinished stairs, the dining room, and the new downstairs bathroom with the Jacuzi.  I hope to have the second floor finished (finally) by the end of the summer of 2007.  I'm putting down all new hardwood flooring in the second floor.  Hopefully I'll have a chance to update after I get that finished.  Then it is my intention to take some time off before moving on to the third floor or the kitchen.

The house is on a very peaceful, tree lined street.

The Shaw Neighborhood

There is lots of information about the Shaw neighborhood on the St. Louis Community Information Network web site.  This is a historic neighborhood that has a very interesting history.  There is also a very active community organization.  Shaw is an area that is obviously on the move with lots of rehabbing going on.
