The House Project

The Second Floor Master Bedroom

Nearly Three Years In Process

The front bedroom spans the entire front of the house. It was originally two rooms that have been converted into one master suite.  It includes a fireplace and a cozy bay window.

Taken the day I bought the house. Notice the carpet that was through the whole house.

New lighting! The fan and light look very nice. So progress all the way.

A "window-door" provide acess to the top of the front porch which had a railing at one point in time.  I may add the railing again.

A Big Change.... Almost Ready for the Trim....

The new hardwood in the master bedroom is almost done. I still have the hall and two smaller bedrooms. It has gone smoothly, but it is work... I'm doing it all myself. The current flooring is old pine and over the years has had lots of damage. They cut through the flooring to install electric at one point. The house originally had gas lights and knob and tube wiring. I have purchased the flooring and am working on getting the master bedroom ready. My original target date to have the flooring finished was the end of summer 2007 but now I'm thinking it may be Christmas of 2007. Doing the work yourself just takes extra time. I jokingly say that I've scheduled the completion party for the house for December of 2012 but that might get pushed back to Easter of 2013.
